my new obsession

Okay remember my post about how there is always going to be something new and better than whatever you currently died to have.

Yeah well I have that issue again. I mean I'm not going to act on it or anything. Its just that yesterday I went in the mobile store because my daughters phone isn't acting right. While waiting for them to fix it I was content to sit and wait. However my child who has always love to touch stuff just had to show me a phone.

(I would get her if she desrved it.)

Anyway...I really wasn't that interested in her wishes but the Blackberry Bold caught my eye. I played with it and low and behold, I am in love! Yes that's right I've cheated on my Blackberry Curve.
Its twice as fast and it truly is like a handheld PC. For you MAC fans its like your apple phone but more compatible with emails and pictures.
(I wonder if the Blackberry Touch is that nice.)
I don't want a phone through Verizon so I may never know. But the Bold is my new infatuation too bad I can't upgrade until 2010.

As for my laptop its on life support.

I look so cute and gothic.... did I mention I'm fasting?

Today starts Lent. I am sacrificing mostly food and I'm not doing a lot of useless chit chat and gossiping. I am not Catholic but I believe in God and Jesus so I need to sacrifice some of my pleasures after all he gave the ultimate sacrifice. Besides the fact I need a lot of prayer and meditation in my life right about now. Through this I hope to gain clarity, wisdom, patience, energy, and endurance while allowing God to order my steps. Now I'm off to work. I have on such a cute outfit that I must not waste.

She ate my bread and threw away my other loaf!

As if living in the castle isn't interesting enough.... The Queen ate my bread!

I bought some cinnamon raisin bread and put away in my pantry. Then I noticed it was open out on the counter half eaten. I asked the children if they had any, they said no but my nephew pointed out that there was a loaf of my wheat bread unopened in the trash can. It was still good! The SELL BY date was Feb 17..."SELL BY" is the key word not "throw away" date. There wasn't even a speckle of mold on the bread and it was still soft.

Now I have absolutely no problem with the Queen having some of my bread. After all she is letting me live in her castle for little of nothing. However when I had eaten some of her sun chips that were sitting around sense before I moved in...it was OFF WITH MY HEAD!!!! I better not even dare eat anything in her pantry or refrigerator especially without asking. Its to the guillotine if I did.

Meanwhile in between that I'm dealing with the worlds most lazy teenager in the world!!! I mean for the love of God!!! I can't believe she wanted to write an essay on how much she hates school. I was so angry that she was serious. I just knew she was kidding me. The sad part about it was all of the errors she made. Now I do not claim to be the most grammatically correct person by any means... but seriously if I ever were to consider doing what she did it would at least be done right.

Anyway I'm here at the public library posting my blog. While my dear sweet teenage daughter searches for a new topic to write about not to mention the science fair project she is getting a second chance at. (Thank You Mr. Moses!)

As far as my artsy side goes its still in full swing but I'm still finding inspiration from so many places. I have lots of good ideas I just have to figure out how I can keep up sense I'm suppose to be on a budget.
I've been painting on ceramic and marble tile. They ares so beautiful. Here is one example.

another doodle while at work waiting on a client. I think I'll make it a painting.

Art, Love, and Boredom

Hello people-

I've been in this place where I'm happy one minute and sad the next. And I'm always dreaming no matter which mood I'm in.
(Is that a form of bipolar disorder?)
All artist are mad in one way or another.
Anywho either way I've been in this creative place for the last three days. I also love finding inspiration from other artist. I would love to do a collaboration with a few of my favorites. Maybe even a swap. I know a lot of the artist I enjoy have prints available but I totally get a rush from original artwork.
Something about feeling the brush strokes and texture. Seeing up close and personal the blend of colors. Knowing they had their skilled hands on that canvas. Its electrifying!!

On another note...I wish there was this much passion in my love life. To be in a relationship that moves you to the core is something I want, hell I need it. However I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that the person I need to fall in love with is me. Its just that I'm horny and lonely at this very moment and damn it there isn't any amount of paint, food, money, or girl power that can take the place of a good loving caring charming man right now.

Back to a lighter note I'm at the salon right now. So yes I'm bloggin on the Blackberry. Its snowy wet and cold outside and its empty and quite in here. The satellite went out due to the inclement weather. I'm so bored I think I'm going to go back home and start on a piece that I've decided to do on birch wood.

On the rare occasions that my computer works I try to take the opportunity to post a blog from it. Last night I finished my butterfly effect #2. The one on the left is acrylic painting and the right one is a prismacolor drawing. I will post the painting with a better photo and the drawing matted and framed on my website once I get it up and running again. It will also be available on Etsy soon. I think I am going to do a series of Butterflies.
They go with the larger one I did last summer. I have another 8x8 I'm working on now.

However for some strange reason I've taken a liking to big head, big eyed drawings of these martian looking women. I've even found inspiration from other artist who do drawings of these very surreal like females. So here is my version of their googaly eyed dolls.
Aren't they adorable...
Now this morning searching and snooping around on Etsy I found the cutest little big head women I've ever seen so here are some links to other artist who inspire me.
As for myself I'm still looking for my signature style. I want to be able to create out of thin air or better yet my imagination. I look at the works of some of these underground or low brow artist and get filled with so much emotion and passion. I want to co-write my own story on canvas. I also want to take it even further with some 3 dimensional work as well. So I search and dream and search and dream. All I know is this is what I believe is the next chapter in the life of RichAnt. Hair pays the bills and puts food on the table, it even inspires me to a degree. Yet lately I've been trying to plan my escape route to becoming a full-time artist and a part-time stylist. I just know how extremely important it is to not just dream but to do. Its so easy to get so caught up in my head. The dreams always come out exactly the way I want. The thing about dreams and reality is a lot of times the reality turns out even better than what I imagined.

Girl Power

After hours of laughter on the phone with one of my girlfriends I realize just how valuable having your female friends is.

Now don't get me wrong I love the company of a good man in more ways than one! However the ladies hold it down in their own right.

Whether its your mom or sister, your friend from work or from school. Your children's friend's mother. Your sister from another mother. Your cousin who lives upstairs from you. Your client who clicks with you. Your prayer partner who prays with you. Your Grandmother or Aunt. A sister in-law or mother in-law. Your next door neighbor. Whatever and however they are connected to you, you need them and they need you!

Women know how to cry with you, laugh with you, pray with you, fight with you and for you. They encourage and support you. They cheer you on and run the race with you. They kick your ass when you need it. Tell you like it is even when you don't want to hear it. Then let you know how much they love you.

I am blessed to have so much girl power!!! I know that unfortunately there are some women out there who don't have any girl power. All I can say is that your never too old to make new lasting healthy friendships.

To all my Ladies out there Thank You for your unconditional LOVE!

All it takes is a small connection whether its a compliment while getting coffee, or sharing engaging conversation while at the beauty salon. Maybe even splitting lunch at work.Friendships form over the simplest of kind gestures.

GIRL POWER!

V.

Okay the other day I was hanging out over at Clevergirlgoesblog and she is handing out letters. The game is the ABC game and you get a letter and then name ten things you love that begin with the letter. Well my letter is "V" so here goes.

1.Violet- Its a shade of purple and we all know I love anything in the violet purple family! Its also a flower and any flower that is that color is my favorite flower. And if I ever adopt a girl (because I would have to be insane to get pregnant again) her name would be Violet.

2.Velvet- Its so soft and artsy. And not to mention it would look lovely in violet.

3.Vintage- Anything vintage clothing, shoes, purses, but mostly FURNITURE. A vintage, velvet, violet sofa would be to die for!

4.Vehicles- Mainly of the BMW persuasion like my beloved Mini Cooper may she RIP. But I'll settle for anything that runs for now.

5.Vanity- Both kinds the furniture and one of the seven deadly sins . A nice vintage vanity to sit in front of for vanity purposes.

6.Versace- Versus is a fragrance that I just absolutely love and always buy. But anything else by this designer can be a bit gaudy. Although some gaudiness is good.

7.Victoria's secret- The bras are amazing! Overpriced but yet amazing! My ninny's never looked so good!

8.Vegetables- Yep I love em! That's right I said it and not just salad but all kinds green beans, spinach, asparagus, broccoli, bok choy, cabbage, carrots etc etc you name it.

9.Vincent Van Gogh- He is one of my favorite legendary artist.

10.Victory!- God has the victory and with God for me no man can be against me!!!

Okay there I did it hope you like.... if you want a letter just drop me a comment and I'll assign you one in the comment section.

The Beach

Hello long time no see...
I have neglected my blog for so long that the few followers probably stopped following...

I have been at the beach most of the month of January. I've been there day dreaming about this totally rockin life I have somewhere in a parallel universe.

(Yes I said it mines is dramatic and yet dull) its weird but it can be both.

You see I am so stuffed with humble pie. Except I know that I have to watch what I think or else I'll get served another sliced.

At first I thought moving to the castle was humbling, and my poor cats, but now Mini is gone. I know my children have to be thinking I have ruined everything.

Now I just sit and think about being a doer. I am stuck in lazyvill and partially depressedvill let this online test tell it I'm in a mild state of depression.

I like dreaming that I'm this successful business owner who owns real estate all over the place. That happens to be a well known respected artist.

I mean I know my life isn't bad but whewwwwwww but I don't want to pretend its all pansies and begonias either.

This post sucks where has my humor gone?
