Art on the go

If you are anything like me inspiration can hit you any where and and anytime.
That's why I have several options for making my art easy to take on the go.
I ordered empty eyeshadow pans and used my favorite watercolor paints and a business cards carrier and boom. Art on the go. The fountain paint brush carries the water so no need for a bottle.
If that's too much like work you can just purchase a cool all in one set here
This set has all the above plus a built in pallette.

The power of online connections

Over the course of three weeks the trajectory of my business as an artist has changed for the better. Once again I give God the glory and the makers of periscope.tv. This is what happens when each one of us walks in the purpose we were created for! Periscope has made way for a platform that allows you to genuinely connect to the people who like your brand. I've made some recent genuine online connections that I know when we finally meet... we're going love on each other as though we were long lost family.

This goes beyond just periscope but we are just going focus on them for now.
Okay so first there was the Periscope portrait of Ms. Nyesha Algiers Diamond a singer and actress last summer. She has a 9am morning show on the scope and her energy is electrifying!

Then there was the Periscope meet up at the Waterfront National Harbor. Oh wait I met Nyesha there as well.

Both garnered new followers and new connections. I met the BOOM Brand specialist Jamilah Corbitt through Periunion and Prophetic art painter Ruben Arana. Jamilah lit a fire under me that encouraged me to update my website and be more consistent with my content. Check her out every day at 11:11 am and pm to BOOM positivity into your life.

Although I've not yet met Darius Williams of Dariuscooks.com He has feed me a wealth of information and knowledge that made me follow through with my coloring book.

Now back to the last three weeks. I've been truly enjoying scopes from my new friends in Atlanta, Georgia. Kiki from Mahoganyknots on YouTube scopes daily. She is the bomb diy mom of three. I feel like we're cousins! Kiki is how I found out about Darius and Pam. I've been actively scoping thanks to a nudge from Pamela J. Booker CEO of Koilsbynature.com and actively watching her scopes as well. Getting to know her like family.

These are just a few names and a few of the experiences that influenced me and my career as a content creator. HOWEVER my girl Pam has been scoping about some real truths about excuses and achieving your goals. It made me go back to when Julian B. Kiganda quotde "do it afraid!" or queen butterfly Diana Ramsey 7pm scopes of inspiration from SistersWithBeauty.com

Now I am half way through my second print run of my coloring book. All because these beautiful people are walking in their purpose. Which in turn blesses others around them to begin to walk out their destiny as well.

See how intentional God is!

My heart is so full!

My cup is running over! I am so happy I'm finally seeing the manifestation of my dreams.
This book is catching fire! I have so many orders to fill and once the first print run comes in I will have already ordered a second print run. Then there is the launch party and round table discussion I am planning to have. I'm in the process of looking for a few sponsors now.

This book and others like it will become the new book club brunch thing. Except it will be adults having fun with crayons and coffee!
Guys I can not tell you how excited I am about whats taking place here. This reminds me of my first vending event where I completely sold out of all my art inventory I had accumulated over two years back in 2009. I walked away on that Saturday afternoon with $780 in cash and that was very early in my career as an artist. Now fast forward to 2016 the first day the pre-order link went live my PayPal notifications were jumping!

Friday I did a Periscope broadcast on BlackBizScope. They are a black owned community base initiative that showcases and supports black owned business. They have a huge audience and they use their platform to help other black businesses gain exposure through a #passthescope #blackbizfriday hour long segment through both am and pm 15 minute spotlights.
Below is my 15 minutes of fame where I had over 300 people in my broadcast and over 2k in hearts. While I was scoping I was selling and continued to sell while the replay was up. It was such a surreal experience. Periscope turned 1 year old today and I must say it has definitely change my brand for the better. I think because it's live unedited unscripted and a up close intimate look into the soul of the person or people behind the product or brand. It allows people to connect with you on a more personal level. People tend to be more loyal, trusting, and supportive when they feel they can trust you. It's the reason why I will be scoping more often.

I understand a lot of people won't understand or get it. However it's either change with the ever evolving times and they way people do social media to influence the masses or get left behind.

Friday, March 18, 2016

I'm committing to being more active on Periscope. Which is particularly hard for me because I prefer to broadcast when the house is quite and during the day.  I however do not live alone so I'm not always in that ideal situation.  So I will try to pop in and make many quick broadcast just so there is always a scope in my que.

New to the shop

The ever going journey to passive income.

"Passive income is an income received on a regular basis, with little effort required to maintain it. It is closely related to the concept of "unearned income". The American Internal Revenue Service categorizes income into three broad types, active (earned) income, passive (unearned) income, and portfolioincome."

The ever continuing journey to create a life where I can monetize off my hobbies. However in doing so I definitely desire to create streams of income from passive money flow. So that even while I'm creating, teaching, or doing absolutely nothing I'm still generating sales.

So here is the latest endeavor

#blackgirlmagic coloring books. I will sell these books any and everywhere I can possibly sell them! Here is a sneak preview of what magical goodness that is in store.

Yes that's right 20 pages of beautiful images of crowns of glory! Showcasing natural hair and relaxed, with animal prints, kente inspired patterns and more! The goal is to allow the RichAnt art lovers collaborate with RichAnt the artist.
I'm currently in the process of looking for self publishing companies that allow for print and production to take place on a larger format of 9x12 or even better 11x14.

To be continued and coming very soon!

Shades of beauty

So I spent all last night trying to finish up this piece. I decided to go to bed since I had a somewhat early am start. However I am having so much fun creating this. I may actually recreate it on a larger canvas with different poses and hairstyles.

As always it feels soooooo good to create. Especially when there is music involed. It just takes you away. Mentally transporting you into a place of peace.

Meet Phoebe she's 5x7 oil painting on a gallery edge canvas and she is available for purchase at Here
Okay so anyone who knows me personally knows I have a gap. I actually have three but two are due to two of my teeth being pulled. I'll be getting implants for those in the late spring. I'm scared because dental work whether cosmetic or hygiene scares me.
Anyway I love painting features that society has deemed imperfections. I love my gap, all of my father's side has one. I look like them.
Gaps, close set eyes, freckles, wide set eyes, big lips, deep dark skin, pale skin, baby necks etc etc. They are all beautiful to me and I love how they make us unique. I want my art to mirror the beauty looking back at her.
