I been trying to just keeping the creative juices going...

I have so many projects going on lol. That my life coach says I need to focus on one at a time but getting my brain to agree is a whole other game plan. To stay charged I've been trying to draw daily and post it on twitter using the hashtag #draw365. Then decided to try to commit to a dailymugshot daily. Journal daily which in a lot of cases become post for this blog. Not to mention the art projects I try to commit myself to completing at least one painting a week. Maybe perhaps I'm a bit crazy. On top pf all that read all the blogs I follow interact with followers on twitter and try to create a youtube video at least twice month although I said I would do one a week lol.

Sidebar: Yeah and remember I am a mom who has to cook and interact with two teenage children one of which loves to impose herself all up in my personal space every waking moment. I also style/color hair at a salon at which I'm suppose to be walking out the door to goto right this very moment. Oh yeah did I mention I need to ship some art off to the post office and make a deposit at the bank.

I know I know...... crazy right but don't sit there and act like most you aren't doing the same insane thing.

Oh yeah above are some of the drawings/doodles I do daily.

This is a portrait I'm working on in between the easy stuff.

Below is a WIP I'm going to either sale or auction and all proceeds goto the HopeForHaiti fund raiser.

Last but not at all least in the mail today I received this pretty hand painted pendant all packaged up so pretty from an etsyian who bought some hand painted cards from me. So check out TheHennesseyCompany they also do excellent photography.

alrighty now thats all for now friends gotta run!
Peace & Blessings,

I'm talking Square Biz

I have found the most wonderful product out there. Say goodbye to merchant accounts and hello to the Square. This new technology allows you to accept credit cards everywhere. No more hassles of contracts, monthly fees, or hidden costs that are the norm of holding a merchant account.

This is how it works... The “Square” is inserted into any internet connected device with an audio input jack, including your mobile phone, and the card is swiped through the “Square”.

No more paper digital receipts and statements...
As a payer, get your receipts sent to your email or mobile phone instantly and access them securely online. You can also use a text message to authorize every payment in real-time.

Pay quickly, securely.

Create a Square payer account to speed up and secure every payment. With photo verification, Square users can visually confirm you are the card holder.

so for more information please check out and submit your email.

Some People

Last week in the midst of the traumatic event that took place in Haiti, I was experiencing my own tragedy as well. As bad as I wanted to focus my thoughts and prayers completely towards the victims of this huge loss I was grieving for my own loss.
My Uncle Darel past away last week. This came as a shock to my family. You see Darel was my uncle but because we were only two years apart he was more like my brother. As small children we lived in the same apartment building so we were always spending time together up until we moved. So I would come and spend my spring breaks with him and my step-granddad all the way up into our teenage years. We had some great times together. LOL as I think about them.
Sadly as a young adult my uncle made some wrong choices which in turn cost him 21 years of his life. Yet after paying his debt he came home a free man who looked forward too so many things. Things we often take for granted he appreciated. For the next 6 months my Uncle wasted no time enjoying life, love, family, friends, work, fun and freedom. Some folks may say it was too much too fast. But on January 10, 2010 my uncle Darel's life was stolen from us.
Darel was more than just another statistic. He was a loving loyal son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, and friend. He loved his family and would do anything for us. Especially his Father who did do anything for his only son. Although his reunion with us was brief I am forever grateful for those precious 6 months we had with him.
Today and forever I celebrate his life and will miss him. Rest In Peace my unclebro Darel M. Alston.

Some people come into our lives
and leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never ever the same.

Some people come into our lives
and quickly go... Some stay for awhile
and embrace our silent dreams.

They help us become aware
of the delicate winds of hope...
and we discover within every human spirit
there are wings yearning to fly.

They help our hearts to see that
the only stairway to the stars
is woven with dreams...
and we find ourselves
unafraid to reach high.

They celebrate the true essence
of who we are...
and have faith in all
that we may become.

Some people awaken us
to new and deeper realizations...
for we gain insight
from the passing whisper of their wisdom

Throughout our lives we are sent
precious souls...
meant to share our journey
however brief or lasting their stay
they remind us why we are here.

To learn... to teach... to nurture... to love

Some people come into our lives
to cast a steady light
upon our path and guide our every step
their shining belief in us
helps us to believe in ourselves.

Some people come into our
lives to teach us about love...
The love that rests within ourselves.

Let us reach out to others
and feel the bliss of giving
for love is far richer in action
that it ever is in words.

Some people come into our lives
and they move our souls to sing
and make our spirits dance.

They help us to see that everything on earth
is part of the incredibility of life...
and that it is always there
for us to take of its joy.

Some people come into our lives
and leave footprints on our hearts
and we are never ever the same.

Valentine's Day is coming sighhhh......

Okay I loathed this day because for years I have not had a Man I can call my Valentine. Yep no flowers or chocolates for me. Tsk tsk I know. Some of you may feel its a bit over rated anyway. I agree to some extent however it does remind me that Mr. Right is still lost wandering around out there searching for me. lol I am far from perfect but I'm am perfectly me and wonderful and unique with qualities that I know some GOOD fella out there will one day appreciate. Until then yall already know Art is my lover.

On that note and in light of the lovers day coming up next month I have created a few pieces that I am selling in my shop. You can give them away as Valentine's gifts or keep them and use them as decorative pieces to adorn your home or office. Whatever your heart desires lol. I will be making more in the next day or two. So check my etsy or artfire store for new updates within a couple of days.

I also uploaded a new youtube video showcasing a few of my drawings.
Below is an example of my first celebrity drawing I completed last night. The drawing is part of a creative exercise that artist do on twitter called #draw365.

Happy New Year folks! May your year and decade be full of goodness, blessings, health, hope, love, peace, and prosperity.
I have been a busy little bee. Trying to tie up loose ends so I can get on with this wonderful new year, decade and journey. I'm so excited about all the possibilities. A little nervous but hopeful none the less.

I've finished my first painting for 2010 she is the second installation in my series on beauty, hair and fashion.

You can also view the process by clicking on the youtube video link over in the sidebar. I can't wait to get started on the next one.
Also to celebrate the beginning of a new year I am going to do another giveaway, yay! So the details for that will be in my next blog but I will tell you this much your going to have to subscribe to my youtube page in order to have a chance to win. Hey... I'm just making sure I cover all my social media and networking lol.
Okay friends I have thought about going to school and getting my degree in fine art. Some say it doesn't matter some say it does. Well I say I don't see how it could hurt so why not??? Now I just have to get together the finances so I can go.

I have so many goals I've set for myself but I understand and realize I need to tackle them one by one. Or else I'm setting myself up for failure.
However the little things aren't so hard. Like writing letters. Making little gifts just show you care or that the person is appreciated. Its fun and they will cherish it even more. In this fast pace world of emails twitter facebook and text message we tend to loose the personal touch of the little things that count.
Get back in the habit of going to church I was a lot more centered when I went.
I promised myself I would get out more and do some face to face social networking.
Take better care of myself on the inside and out because I deserve the best of me.
Put away a few dollars just to get back into the habit of saving.
I will make a new piece of art no matter how small at least once weekly. I will draw daily.
I will call my dad more. Spend more recreational time with my children.
Hang out more with my sister (both of them) These are just a few. My list is long some are simple and some aren't. But like I said baby steps one thing at a time. The biggest leap I will be taking is cutting my Saturdays at the salon back to every other Saturday. I plan to use that time off the get out and enjoy the art scene and participate as well. I'm leaving you with two quotes for the week...

“Don't wait. The time will never be just right.” - Napoleon Hill
“Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.” -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

peace and blessings
